About Me

An enthusiastic learner eager to search for different algorithms to discover the world. I graduated from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and now I'm pursuing my Ph.D. at UB (yay!). I have my hands dirty with python and R coding as well as some experiences in EXCEL and visualization. I enjoy optimizing models and contributing to the fairness of the machine-learning world. My main interests are researching the intersection of human beings and computers, including social network analysis. I like learning by challenging myself since challenges wash away boredom!

Education

State University of New York at Buffalo

Ph.D. in Computer Science 2024 - present

I started my Ph.D. journey under the supervision of Kenny in cUBeLab. We mainly focus on the social in social media and try to observe and understand human behaviour in such environments. Can't wait to do interesting projects and discover more!

Amirkabir University of Technology

B.A. Degree in Computer Science 2017 - 2022

I was honored to spend my undergraduate years in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the Amirkabir University of Technology. I had the chance to work on multiple projects under the supervision of many experienced professors. Furthermore, my life's journey was enriched by some amazing friendships I made there.

Reseraches

Why Do People Solicit Social Feedback on Subreddits Like r/RateMe, r/RoastMe,r/ToastMe, and r/AmIUgly?

fall 2025

Why do people decide to expose themselves in social media and what really motivates them to come to the internet for what can be best describe as social support? In this pape we delved deeper in such questions and tried to find motivations behind such social seeking behaviours by fine-tuning LLMs, doing some image processing and using some tools to debias our models.

Can LLMs be Manipulative?

fall 2025

This is our newest project in journalism collaborating with Northeastern University. Can LLMs encourage emotional manipulation in journaling using images? let's see what the answer might be!

Big Data Classification, Analyzing Social Network Data Using 70GB of Scientific Multilingual Articles

github summer 2022

Classifying big data using a deep learning approach (LSTM). Challenges include separated files and classes, big data, limited memory and time, and multilingual data.

LDA Topic Modelling on Persian Tweets

github spring 2022

This project was a turning point for me, since it provided me with a lot of information about machine learning world. You can read the full documentation on github.

Sentiment Analysis using LSTM Neural Networks on Persian Tweets

github summer 2022

Analyzing sentiments of a group of Persian tweets associated with a specific topic using Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network. In the future, I also wish to take sarcasm and irony into account as well.

More About Me!

Like many people, I acquired some skills in my free time that I like to share. I have been playing violin for four years now (still a beginner, to be honest!). I played in a couple of students orchestra and honestly it's one of the best experiences in life or at least in mine! I enjoy hanging out with my friends, watching movies, listening to music, and reading books in my free time. I try to keep up with my gym sessions and lead an active life. Currently, I am reading "Manufacturing Consent, The Political Economy of the Mass Media" by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky and watching "Stranger Things"!
